The Go! Team...

YAY! Last night, I went down to Cardiff to see The Go! Team in a gig at the Coal Exchange. My socks were well and truely rocked. When we were queueing to go in, we made friends with an Austrian gril, who teaches German in Cardiff. There were two support acts before the team themselves, the first was an american band Smoosh made up of two girls who looked about 16, one on the drums and one on the keyboard and singing. Next up were gr8e, Australians who were far too chirpy, and with a lead singer who just threw herself around the stage a lot. Then, (cliche alert!) the moment we had all been waiting for arrived - The Go! Team! woo! etc Most members of the Team played a few instruments, two such instruments being the recorder and the melodica. The visual stuff played on a large screen behind them was ace, with loads of 'super-8' style home videos of the Team when they were young. As it was the last date in their tour, and partly becaue it was the drummer in gr8e's birthday, there was a small after-show party, which we toddled along to. As it was in the bay, we had a god view of the impressive Welsh assembly building (larger in real life than I though it would be). Overall, my first night out in Cardiff bay was a good one. Although the problem with standing at the front is that my hearing is yet to get back to normal.

Chi Fukami Taylor, one of the drummers, and a vocalist on one song.

The Team, although the 'A' person has been replaced by the very cool Kaori Tsuchida.
